Eco Dying Workshop - Dye paper, fabric and yarn with garden and wild plants
September 18 - 19, 2021
Time: 10:00am Saturday through 4:00pm on Sunday
Workshop Fee: $225 (Includes lodging at the AVRC and all meals)
Spend a weekend immersed in dying paper, fabrics and yarns with foraged plants from our 550 acres and gathered from the “dyer’s garden” on the Adamah art campus. We will learn about mordents, gathering and preparing plants and making dye baths. We will dye yarn in vats of color and use the “roll up and tie” dying method for fabric and paper which imprints plant images onto the surfaces. Participants will be provided with all materials, a chance to gather plants and instruction sheets to take home. The workshop cost includes all meals and lodging at the Art Ventures Retreat Center.
