Each participant will be given a color wheel and a large piece of
prepared canvas. Using acrylic paints, we will mix the primary colors (and black and white) to create secondary colors and then experiment with warm and cool colors, tones and shades. Instructor will
demonstrate. Enjoy wine (or a soft drink) and cheese while you work!
Everyone in the class will receive the identical photograph of an outdoor landscape and a 9” x 12” stretched canvas. Using the color mixing techniques from the first class, we will sketch out the scene on the canvas and begin to paint the landscape. One-on-one help and instruction is offered during class. Enjoy wine and cheese while you work.
We will continue to paint our landscape pictures while being able to ask questions and get individual help. Enjoy wine and cheese while you work.
During our last class, we will finish up our paintings and have a group discussion about our work and what we learned.
The fee includes: color wheels, 1 prepared unstretched canvas, 9” x 12” stretched canvas, tubes of Burnt Umber, Yellow Ochre and Phthalo Blue, and easels. Studio provides cheese and crackers!
