What type of clay is available at Adamah?
Adamah uses clay from Paoli Clay Company in Paoli WI. We offer their grolleg porcelain, B-clay, and DSM half grog stoneware for sale in our studio. All of our clays fire up to cone 10. Many of our ceramic workshops come with a set amount of one of these clays, check your workshop description for more details.
Can we purchase clay?
Yes! Adamah sells clay right in the studio for your convenience. Prices vary depending on market price.

What is your cancelation policy?
We have a 30-day cancellation policy. If you let us know before 30 days leading up to your workshop that you are unable to attend we will issue a full refund. Refunds will not be given after the 30 days have past.
What is included in the workshop price?
Those choosing to a single or multi-occupancy ticket receive lodging, 3 meals a day, and the workshop instruction for the total cost of the workshop. Commuters receive lunches and workshop instruction. The studio is open 24/7 to all workshop attendees.
Can I pay for a private lesson?
Yes, please contact adamah@bethelhorizons.org to inquire about private lesson availability. Prices are $80/hour
How is Adamah funded?
We are a non-profit organization and funded through donations, grants and purchase of our workshops and stays in our retreat center.
Do you offer beginner pottery classes?
Yes! Adamah offers beginning wheel throwing classes. See https://www.adamahartstudio.org/classes for our current offerings.
What should I bring to my workshop?
You should bring any personal or specialized tools you wish to use during the duration of the workshop such as special pottery ribs, brushes or your bat system. Adamah provides basic tools necessary to participate in the class. Look for more details in your workshop description and informational emails as your workshop approaches.
Can I bring my partner or a friend with me to a workshop?
Yes! Have them sign up as a "Houseguest" House guests do not participate in workshop instruction but get to stay in the lodging facility and join the group for three meals a day.

What is the daily workshop schedule like?
Our workshops follow a general schedule that offers breaks for meals and recreation. Instruction officially starts after the breakfast hour at 8a.m. People tend to work until the lunch hour, when there is a break for food and a little time to reset before the afternoon sessions. the instructor usually gives scheduled demonstrations and working time, with some time open to work more fluidly with instructors or take an afternoon hike. After dinner students and instructors often go over slideshows or enjoy a relaxing campfire. All participants and Instructors have 24 hour access to the studio.
