Come for a week of wood firing in the Anagama kiln. Bring 60-80 bisque pots and take a few shifts stoking the kiln! Pieces MUST be made from a cone 10 clay body. When you are not at the kiln, throw pots in the studio, hike trails on our 550 acres of beautiful property, visit Governor Dodge State Park, or visit local art galleries. 6-8 studio glazes are available for your use. Glazing: October 24; Loading the kiln: October 24-25; Firing: October 26-29; Kiln unloading and cleanup: Saturday, November 7

- Cotton clothing for firing
- Sturdy work shoes/boots
- Warm layers
Please bring 60–80 cone 10 various-sized bisque-fired pieces to be included in the kiln firing. This number is based on average mug-sized pieces. If you bring smaller works that can safely nest inside one another (without glaze), you may be able to include up to 80 pieces. If you bring larger items, expect to fit closer to 60 pieces. The instructor will do their best to ensure everyone gets a fair number of pieces in the kiln. We recommend including a few tall, narrow forms to take advantage of the top arch space in the kiln.
Optional materials to bring:
- Personal toiletries (shampoo, hairdryer, etc. — linens and towels are provided.
- Snacks
- Personal tools
- Notebook and pen/pencil
- Water bottle
- Hiking shoes
- Raincoat
