Silver & Sangria with Angela Brooks

Join us for a week of jewelry-making and metal exploration. In this 5-day, 12-hour jewelry-making class, you will learn an assortment of historical wire manipulation techniques and skills using hammers, pliers, and other silversmithing tools. You will also work with a newer jewelry- making medium known as Metal Clay. Squish, stamp, cut-out, and roll porcelain-like clay before kiln-firing it where it becomes a beautiful fine silver wearable art piece. Using both wire and metal clay you will create and take home 8 or more pieces of jewelry that you created! Elevate the experience by bringing along your cherished Sangria recipe and fixings to exchange with fellow classmates.

Artist Bio:

This class is taught by Angela Brooks. Angela learned jewelry skills in high school and received her bachelor’s degree in Art, followed by a Master’s in teaching. She discovered metal clay in the early 2000s when it was first developed and immediately learned the art of working with precious metal clays and became a certified instructor. She then began teaching the art of

silversmithing and working with metal clay. She will bring everything you need to create all the pieces in the class.
